Miles For Minds & Mobility

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Week, which this year focuses on the theme of movement, we commend Halley House School teacher Rebecca Jackson for her incredible achievement – completing the 2024 London Marathon!

Rebecca, who works as a Personal, Social, Health and Economics (PSHE) lead and Year 5 class teacher and has a background in SENCo, tackled her first ever marathon last month. Clocking in an impressive 4 hours and 59 minutes after 16 weeks of dedicated training that began in January.

Driven by a desire to support a cause that works with different needs, Rebecca chose to raise money for Whizz Kidz, a charity that works with young wheelchair users. Her incredible effort brought in over £3,000 for the worthy cause!

Rebecca's story highlights the power of movement for both physical and mental well-being, a message particularly resonant during this year's Mental Health Awareness Week. This achievement serves as an inspiration to pupils, staff, and the wider community.

Well done Rebecca!
